David Orlofsky

David Orlofsky has over 15 years of diversified business experience, providing both interim management and advisory services to a variety of clients. His industry experience includes manufacturing, automotive, health care and retail. 

Professional Experience

Recent assignments include representing the asset based lenders of Neff Rental, a leading equipment rental company; serving as CRO of Mark IV Industries, a $1.3 billion global automotive and transportation company; and advising the senior lenders to Tronox, a $1.5 billion chemical company. In addition, David advised the term lenders for Metaldyne, a $1 billion automotive supplier. He also led the team engaged on behalf of an equity partner in their acquisition due diligence of a large automotive supplier.

David was part of the team leading the restructuring of Collins & Aikman, a $4 billion automobile supplier, serving as associate director of restructuring. At Collins & Aikman, David was responsible for leading negotiations with major customers which resulted in over $500 million of pricing and liquidity improvements. He was also one of the key individuals leading the process to close unprofitable plants, re-negotiate equipment leases and sell groups of assets. Previously, David held the dual position of CFO and COO at Malden Mills, a U.S.-based textile company with operations in Europe and Asia, best known as the creators of Polartec® brand fleece. At Malden Mills David was responsible for managing operations, finance, sales and marketing and its international divisions. He was one of the key executives who led the successful restructuring of the company through a variety of turnaround efforts including strategic cost reductions, growth initiatives and the establishment of a sales and supply organization in China.

David has been with Zolfo Cooper since 1998. Previously, he provided advice and assistance in the restructurings of Washington Group International, Recoton, American Home Patient, and Frederick’s of Hollywood. Before joining Zolfo Cooper he was an audit manager at Arthur Andersen.
