John Sharpe
John Sharpe is a director at Zolfo Cooper. He has more than 20 years of professional experience, including 10 years specializing in corporate restructuring, combined with private industry and public accounting experience. He has represented debtors and creditors in large, complicated bankruptcies for nearly a decade.
Recently John advised LandAmerica Financial Group, a real estate transaction service provider with operations throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and Asia. John led the day-to-day-activities of the company's Chapter 11 reorganization. Previously John was a member of the team that advised The Industrial Company (TIC), a $2 billion privately held general industrial construction company during its out-of-court restructuring.
John was also involved in managing the restructuring activities of the $4 billion automotive supplier, Collins & Aikman. In another assignment he was responsible for assessing the financial and operational viability of a stand-alone plan of reorganization for the Unsecured Creditors Committee of Mirant Americas Generation. In addition, he served as associate director of restructuring at NRG Energy.
Prior to joining Zolfo Cooper, John served in several senior financial executive positions including chief accounting officer, treasurer and controller for various public companies. At each of these organizations, he served as principal liaison for attorneys, consultants, bankers, public accountants and other professionals.
